My artwork has developed to multiple layers of mixed media and the juxtaposition of concepts to create a sense of depth in my photography. I've taken everything from magazine photographs to my own paintings and drawings, while also incorporating 3-Dimensional objects, all into one composition and photographing them together.
The pieces that I create are a narrative for both the viewer and myself. I don’t title my images because I want that to be something the viewers get to decide for themselves. To tell them the artist’s concept would rob them of the freedom of interpretation that comes with a surrealistic ideology and the relationship between art and its viewers.
While I use a variety of materials and processes, I try to keep a whimsical, or surrealistic, approach to my photographs that keep them cohesive. This way they can be seen and understood together or intriguing individually. Though they may all take on separate contextual elements, they all give a sense of wonder as to how they were made and the purpose behind them.
